Mrs. Johnson
Mrs. Kelly Johnson is the First Grade teacher at Concord Academy Boyne.This is her 9th year at CAB, however she has been teaching for 21 years, including teaching grades Pre-K through 3rd in Flint, MI and Dallas, TX.Mrs. Johnson received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Michigan State University. She is married to her high school sweetheart, Christian, and has 3 children, Karli, Carter, and Kennedy. Mrs. Johnson loves to spend time with her family at home on Walloon Lake as well as staying active doing pilates, yoga, running, and paddle boarding.

Mrs. Shumaker
Mrs. Shumaker is a lifetime resident of the Boyne City area. She has been married to her husband, Todd, for over 20 years. She has three children, two of which are in college, and one is a freshman in High School. Mrs. Shumaker completed her teaching degree from Western Governors University. She was a long term sub at Concord over the past 13 months before becoming the current 4th grade teacher.Mrs. Shumaker’s interests include sports and portrait photography, watching her kids play sports, gardening, reading, “creative crafting”, and working around her family farm. Her goals include bringing her classroom into the 21st century through technology, fostering a creative, student driven classroom, and providing activities that teach-and-reach every learner.
Mrs. Simmonds
Mrs. Simmonds is Concord Academy Boyne’s Fifth Grade teacher. This year is her fifth year teaching at Concord Academy Boyne. Mrs. Simmonds received her B.S. in education from Lake Superior State University. She also has a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instructional Design from Western Governor’s University. Prior to teaching, Mrs. Simmonds worked as a certified/registered dental assistant. She says that one thing she appreciates about working at Concord is “the smaller class sizes and the feeling of family.” Mrs. Simmonds’ hobbies include motorcycle riding, martial arts, traveling, reading, kayaking, and camping.
